You’ve taken the leap and booked your photography session. You won’t regret it! But you may be feeling a little nervous, and that’s totally normal.  One of the biggest questions I hear as a photographer is “What do I do with my hands?” Posing is always a concern when you’re having your photo taken, and I’m here to help! In my sessions, I guide my clients into poses that feel natural and comfortable.

But if you’re still feeling nervous, I put together a list of a few favorite props to include in your session, both to give you something to do with your hands and to help you feel more at ease.

    1. A cup of coffee or tea

What’s the fuel that keeps you going throughout the workday? If you’re a coffee or tea drinker, a fun mug can be the perfect accessory for your photos. Another option is to bring your water bottle or blend your favourite shake and put it in a mason jar for the pop of colour and emphasis on nutrition.  It’s not only a comfort to those of us in desperate need of caffeination, but it’s also a common workday accessory.

    2. Your favorite accents or decor

A pop of colour in your brand palette can make the world of difference.  For example, adding your own couch pillows or blanket adds an instant touch that is customized for you.  Plants and flowers are also a great accent that adds life to the scene.

    3. Your phone, laptop or computer

No matter what kind of business you run, chances are your phone is always close to hand. Whether it’s answering client phone calls or filling orders (or just trying to keep up with your busy schedule), your cell phone is an important accessory in your business.  A great way to show your business in action is by sitting at or working on your computer.

    4. A book, magazine or day planner

Some of us use the calendar on our phones, while others are more pen-and-paper types. If you have a day planner, why not show off that packed schedule and to-do list? You can even use a book or magazine as an accessory, especially if your job involves regular research or design.

See what our clients are saying!

    Wedding photoshoot

    Wedding Photography

Whether you have a wedding or you've decided to elope on the beach with just the two of you, you've come to the right photographer. When documenting your day, my goal is for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera and have an stress-free, fun experience while capturing your story.

    Food PHOTOGRAPHY

    Culinary Photography

I am a former chef and restaurant owner with a passion for culinary photography.  I specialize in documenting all steps of the food journey from plant to plate. The imagery I create is minimal, polished, and highlights the natural beauty of food.

I've loved taking pictures since I took my first photography class in high school. And I'm inspired by the love I have for my home city.  I have photographed many different subjects, scenes, and moments. There's a picture around every corner.

    Behind the Lense

I’m Sharene Perna and I’m a professional photographer lucky enough to live in a small beach town named Stuart, FL. I enjoy being behind the camera more than anything else. There’s something special about being able to capture a moment. When you hire Sharjosie Photography to photograph your High School Reunion, Event, Personal Photos or your Wedding, it’s one of the few times during your life when your whole family comes together to join one another in celebration. I have been a professional photographer since 2010 when I started at Martin Memorial Hospital as a baby photographer. There are few backdrops as beautiful as our Florida beaches. So, whether you’ve booked large venue, or have nestled in the quaint town of Stuart, I’d love to talk with you!

Are you wondering what to wear?

So you can’t wear your favorite sports shirt, your go-to sweatshirt, or your most comfortable pair of sweatpants. What does that leave to wear? Fortunately, you still have a lot of options!

What you wear will depend on the time of year, the setting, the occasion, and ultimately your unique personality. Here are some general ideas about what to wear to a photoshoot:

    • Keep accessories and jewelry simple, or skip it altogether.
    • Stick to solid, muted colors–earthy tones, muted gem tones, monochrome, beige, and taupe are great examples.
    • Low contrast outfits (if your shirt is pure white, go for lighter color bottom pieces.)
    • Flatter your figure–don’t wear clothes that are entirely too tight or loose, or clothes that accentuate your insecurities. Wear something you feel beautiful in.
    • Dress in long skirts, pants, or dresses. There is just something about a long flowy dress that photographs so beautifully, and you will have so much fun wearing one!
    • Wear your hair how you like it, but typically stay away from ponytails. Typically, the looser and more flexible the style, the better!
    • Coordinate your clothing–in group photos, try to keep everyone on the same page and color palette of 2-4 colors. The best tip I recommend for a place to start your family outfit planning is to pick one item of clothing with a few colors (like mom or daughter’s dress) and pull colors from that for everyone else to wear. Dress like you go together.
